Stephan has been in the IT industry since he started his career in 1983 with IBM. He has been a systems engineer with CompuNet in Germany and later on became a global account manager at General Electric. He touched base with management frameworks like ITIL around the millennium, when he was running a consultant and training organisation in Cologne.

He has been a member of itSMF since 2009 at the time when he joined APMG where he is today accountable for the EMEA Business. He is on the board of itSMF Germany since 2020 and became CFO in 2021.

Stephan has a deep expertise in Project and IT Service Management, but expanded his portfolio towards Business Relationship Management and alternative IT Service Management frameworks since ITIL became commercialised.
